Welcome Numerics & Model Order Reduction Group

December 19, 2023 /

We are delighted to announce the initiation of the 'Numerics and Model-Order Reduction (NMOR)' research group, a key component of our DFG-funded project. This newly formed team is dedicated to advancing the field of model-order reduction through innovative and interdisciplinary approaches. We welcome two specialists to our team: Manmit Padhy and Firat Araz.

Manmit Padhy will be spearheading research into advanced model-order reduction (MOR) methodologies, specifically targeting the real-time prediction of dynamical behaviours in poroelastic materials. This will involve applying sophisticated MOR and optimization techniques to provide and understand the essential damping and absorption properties for structural and acoustic engineering.

Firat Araz will focus on the integration of model-order reduction with coupled modelling techniques in the context of battery cell technology. His work will leverage the principles of porous media theory to enhance the simulation and understanding of electrochemical and mechanical processes in battery cells.

These appointments mark a significant step forward in our endeavour to push the boundaries of model-order reduction technology and its applications in material science and energy storage systems.
